Suzuki Recalls 2008-2010 Motorcycles for Regulator/Rectifier Heat Problem
Suzuki is recalling certain model year 2008-2010 motorcycles.
These motorcycles were manufactured from July 2007 through September 2009, equipped with regulator/rectifier assemblies, Suzuki part numbers 32800-41F11, 32800-15H10, 32800-05H11, 32800-41G10, 32800-15H00, 32800-18H00, 32800-05G10, 32800-10G10, 32800-05H20, or 32800-06G01. Some regulator/rectifier assemblies were produced with insufficient adhesion between the power module (circuit board) and the rectifier case that contains a heat sink to dissipate heat. Due to insufficient adhesion, heat generated on the power module circuit board can cause the circuit board to deform, and lift off the case.
The number of units affected is 73426.

Mazda Mx5 Cars Second generation (NB)
2002 saw the launch of the MX5 SP. The MX-5 SP was developed and sold in Australia and its turbocharged engine produced 157 kW (211 bhp) at 6800 rpm. Only 100 of these cars were built. The SP was very expensive in comparison to a standard MX5 at the time but offered blistering performance.
In 2003 Mazda launched a campaign to target a younger group of drivers with the introduction of the Shinsen Version (SV) Miata. The Shinsen (Japanese for "Fresh and New") provided an intermediate step between the base model and the pricier LS. Equipped with most standard features on the LS, such as cruise control and aluminum brush trim, the SV added a touch of comfort and style without a hefty price tag. This limited production model also shared an inverted color scheme of the same year Special Edition. With a titanium silver exterior, dark blue top and interior, the Shinsen Version was a handsome addition to the Miata family.

BRP Recalls 2011 Roadster Spyder RT SM5 for Shift Problem
BRP is recalling certain model year 2011 Spyder RT SM5 Roadsters.
While downshifting, it may be possible to inadvertently engage reverse without depressing the reverse button, due to a defective reverse actuator cable. If this happens while vehicle is moving forward, the rear wheel could lock and the engine could stall.
The number of units affected is 160.

We've had so much snow this year!
Unlike winters passed, we haven't really seen the deer in our back yard.
I think the snow was so deep the deer must have actually been burried in it........

The SSC ULTIMATE AERO II to beat Veyron Super Sport Top Speed Record
The new SSC Ultimate Aero II has been expected with a well-defined function: to beat Super Sport Bugatti Veyron top speed record. The new American supercar SSC Ultimate Aero II, announced a few months as a result of the innovative character of Jason Castriota, is shown in all its excitement, thanks to an exclusive photo shoot created by Top Gear, the automotive set-up of British BBC network best known among car’s fanatic. The record for fastest manufactured car in the world (not prototype), belonged to the previous SSC Ultimate Aero I, just won by Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
New Ultimate Aero II Shelby Super Cars, to bring back the record at home, relies on a 6.8-liter V8 twin turbo 1369 hp and lightweight carbon fiber shell that keep the total weight of the car within 1179 kg. Designed by Jason Castriota, who now works for Saab, the SSC Ultimate Aero II seems to have assimilated shapes of Maserati Birdcase 75th, Ferrari 458 Italia and P4/5. Austin Speed Shop's "El Gringo Loco" ... fantastic interior, superb lace paint, terrific total design
I even dig the flame outlines.. .the traced out lines look really good in context to the gold lines from the headlights and along the hood borders I love the seats, the center console, and the shifter knob. You don't see many try at lace paint... this is one of the few new lace paints, and nailed it. perfect look!
Great customs at GNRS, I don't know what hall bldg, but the total quality caught my eye of these beautiful cars
The above "Wild Cad" from Mario Colalillo and Canden County Customs won Top Radical Kustom and the Barris Kustom D'Elegance award. Love this color combo, reminds me of blueberries and cream Terrific looking design, but I wouldn't have went with this color
D'Agostino Customs tackled one of the ugliest cars, a 1975 Stutz Bearcat... Elvis loved them, but do you?

Got Snow?
It's been a white wintery not so wunderland here in Minnesota this year, and I know many other places as well.
Matter of fact, this year in Minnesota, we broke the all time record in the month of December for snow fall, and the snow has not stopped yet. It just keeps coming and coming and coming. It's like the Energizer Bunny on Viagra doing porn.
Being an insurance adjuster, I think I've handled more interior water damage claims caused by ice dams due to the repeated large snow falls this year than any other year before. Correction, I know I have.
Mrs. M. refers to this year as "Snowmageddon".
So for me and all of the other snow bound riders out there who won't be riding any time soon, I am posting this to lighten our spirits.
Below is an aerial photo of the average upstate NY & New England commute for folks these days....

Harley-Davidson Recalls 2011 Softails for Engine Stalling
Harley-Davidson is recalling certain model year 2011 Softail motorcycles manufactured from June 7, 2010, through October 8, 2010, which have had a security system kit installed as an accessory.
The Body Control Modules (BCM) involved are part numbers 69991-11 and 69993-11. The BCM has a case that may not have been properly sealed during production. An improper seal may allow water intrusion into the BCM which may cause engine stall.
The number of units affected is 6964.

2011 Porsche Boxster S Black Edition

Porsche started to buildup the 911 Black Edition, but is already rolling out that car’s greatest competitor: the Boxster S Black Edition. Like the 911, this one leaves a dark idea, with black finishes for not only the body, cloth top, and 19-inch wheels, but the air intakes, roll bars, and dual tailpipes, as well. The top is embossed with "Black Edition" lettering.
The same monochrome look from its 911 sibling dominates the interior. The seats—available either as cloth with leather accents or fully wrapped in cowhide—are all black, as are the instruments and the trim on the dashboard and center console. A badge on the glove box tells you the car’s place in the limited production run, which will number 987 units—that number being the internal model designation for the current- (second-) generation Boxster. The 911 Black Editions, for comparison, will be produced in a run of 1911.

This limited-edition Boxster equip with a lot of extra equipment at a reasonable first-class price. In its German home market, the Black Edition is a few thousand Euros more expensive than the Boxster S, but it is equipped with the navigation system, a sound package, and xenon HID headlights, which would cost significantly more if spec’d individually.
While the Porsche 911 Black Edition is powered by an unchanged version of the least-powerful engine in the 911 lineup, a 345-hp 3.6-liter flat-six, the Black Boxster is fitted with the strongest six in the Boxster armory. The 3.4-liter from the Boxster Spyder and Cayman S produces 320 hp at 7200 rpm, narrowing the gap between this car and its 911 counterpart to just 25 horses. The excellent six-speed manual is standard, while the PDK seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is optional. Like any Boxster, the Black Edition can be optioned up with an adaptive suspension and Porsche's carbon-ceramic brakes.

Great idea for race car trailers
Check out the innovative idea here, once the car is out, use it for a counter to sell stuff, deal with customers, or whatever, bny flipping up some countertops, lift up the side, and put in some chairs. Crown molding lighting is good too
Gerry cans and ammo cans, a new use for cool old military stuff
If you look close at the left hand can, at the top of the photo, you'll see the low pressure air fitting in the filler cap. It didn't work well the first time, but the builder was trying to use the gerry cans for air tanks for the air suspension... that's a good idea! The problem was the fitting, not the can.
Good photo, that's a tribute to the car builder, who decided that this brake light belongs right there
maybe it's the curves in the body line contrasting the curve of the tire being bisected by the chrome. Whatever it is, it's a great spot for that light.
